Between Devine,TX and Hondo,TX . . . Hondo Creek at State Rd 173 . . .Went there for the first time in late April . . and boy is it pretty there . . . Just below the bridge and right on the creek bank . . . Took me some worms and bottom fished . . . Beautiful green waters and lots of trees and surrounded by ranch land . . . Met some new friends and caught some fish too! . . I caught 4 nice Bluegills, 3 Mudcats, and 1 Black Bass. |

I went to Browns Island this morning . . and caught 3 catfish,2 smallmouth,and 1 small carp . . all on worms from the walking bridge there!Got some pictures taken there also. |

I left Devine,TX yesterday . . Thank God! . . What a F&^king nitrmare Gussville (aka Cussvilee)was . . Any way . . . on the way back to Troy,Tx . . Where I'm from . . I stopped on I-35 near San Marcos . . where there was a small creek by the service road . . . nothing big . . . my first cast lands me about a 3 pound bass . . Wow! . . and . . I caught 2 of the biggest bluegills I ever seen . . much less caught . . i mean there where 1#ers at least . . Man that was a great 15 minutes of fishing . . at a little muddy creek on the side of the road in Texas!!

5-9-2010 - Went to Hondo Creek Sunday Morning . . . I caught a handful of Bluegills . . a nice Channel Cat and 2 Spotted Gar . . . Caught the 1 gar on cut bait and 1 on a live Bluegill . . . WOW!!

This moring at I went to Co Rd-545 and Hondo Creek . . First time at this spot . . . about 40 or 50 feet above the creek off the bridge . . .I caught 2 small Blk Bass and a Channel Cat that was about 4# and about 19 inches. . . all caught off a small yellow beetle grub jig . . . had a good time and was very pretty there too!Made my day!

I went to Hondo Creek today!Partly sunny and about 75 degrees . . . It's between Hondo and Devine,Tx off of SH 173....I caught 4 sunfish, 3 Mudcats, and 1 bass .. .. all off of worms . . . What a pretty place too! . . Hondo means Deep in espaņol . . I saw lots of Gar also . . .I can't wait to go back this week . . . adios . . . Tex aka - Glenn

Caught my first bass of the year today @ Kingsland Creek and Chester RD. . Was headed home and had a few mins of daylight left. . .On my first cast too!nothing after that :( . .
